One of the most powerful features of a KNX system is the ability to store and recall scene presets. A single button press can simultaneously control dozens of lighting circuits, motorized curtains, the HVAC system, and even background music. Here are five scenes every luxury villa should have.
1. Good Morning
Triggered at a set time or by the first movement in the master bedroom. Bedroom curtains rise slowly to let in natural light. The bathroom and hallway lights come on at 30%. Coffee machine starts via the KNX smart plug. Perfect temperature pre-set on the HVAC.
2. Dinner Mode
Dining room pendants dim to a warm 40%. Kitchen task lights stay at 80%. Living room sofa lights warm to amber. Motorized curtains close for privacy. Background music plays softly via the AV integration.
3. Cinema Mode
Press “Cinema” on the Zennio touch panel (or say it to your KNX voice assistant). All lights off except the LED strip behind the TV at 10% warm white. Motorized blackout curtains close. AV receiver powers on and switches to the streaming input.
4. Goodnight
All lights off across all floors. All motorized blackout curtains close. Ground floor perimeter security armed. HVAC switches to sleep mode (24°C). A single dim light guides you to the bedroom, then fades out after 3 minutes.
5. Away Mode
Simulates occupancy while you are traveling. Lights turn on and off in random rooms throughout the evening. Motorized gates close. All standby loads switch off. Perimeter cameras record to NAS.
All of these scenes are programmed in ETS software and can be modified at any time — no electrician required.
